Job Summary:
The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting goods, materials, or equipment between warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing sites, or customer locations. This role is crucial in the logistics and supply chain sector, requiring precision, reliability, and a strong understanding of safety and transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy trucks or tractor-trailers to transport cargo across local or regional routes
- Load and unload goods safely, using equipment when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and document any issues
- Keep accurate logs of hours, mileage, fuel usage, and deliveries
- Follow all transportation laws and safety regulations, including weight and load limits
- Ensure proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the truck
- Communicate with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and clients regarding deliveries
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario AZ or DZ driver’s license (depending on vehicle size/type)
- Clean driving record and current CVOR abstract
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience driving commercial trucks
- Knowledge of GTA roadways, industrial zones, and major highways
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate loading/unloading equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Familiarity with electronic logbooks and GPS routing systems
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check
