Taxi Driver

Monthly Salary: $3,000 – $3,900
Location: Kensington Market, Toronto

Job Summary:

A Taxi Driver provides transportation services for passengers within Toronto. Based in the culturally diverse Kensington Market area, the driver may serve a variety of local and tourist customers. This role requires reliability, navigation skills, and good customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick up and drop off passengers at requested locations promptly and safely
• Use GPS and local knowledge to choose optimal routes
• Collect fares and provide receipts when necessary
• Assist passengers with luggage or accessibility needs
• Keep the taxi clean, fueled, and well-maintained
• Adhere to all municipal taxi regulations and licensing requirements
• Maintain records of trips, fares, and hours worked

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario G driver’s license (Taxi License or permit from Toronto Licensing Office required)
• Clean driving record and a background check
• Good knowledge of Toronto streets, traffic patterns, and shortcuts
• Professional and polite with strong communication skills
• Flexible schedule — evenings, weekends, and late nights may be required
• Experience with navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems for payment handling
