Summary

As an AZ Driver for team runs from Toronto to Vancouver and California CA, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight while adhering to all driving regulations. • Collaborate with team members to optimize routes and enhance operational efficiency.

Ram Iron & Metal is looking for a competent and experienced AZ Truck Driver to join our Team. The Truck Driver, under the direction of the General Manager will be responsible for managing our pick-up and drop off loads within the GTA and surrounding areas.

OVERVIEW

The successful candidate must have trailer and/or manual truck driving experience with 18-speed transmissions for either roll-off or luggers. The truck driver will be transporting materials to designated locations and communicating with dispatchers, and other drivers using two radios or mobile devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITES
• Conduct pre-operational inspection and post-operational inspection of the truck using digital inspection form.
• Report any unsafe conditions or issues during the service calls.
• Responsible for the safe operations of assigned fleet vehicle.
• Timely transportation of our bins/loads to and from our client sites.
• Maintain regular communication with Logistics Department.
• Use automated tarping systems, and occasionally perform manual tarping.
• Ensure loads and bins are secured prior to travelling on public roadways and highways.
• Input details of deliveries, pickups and other activities associated with each service call.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the truck(s).
• In the event of a spill, perform timely response, notification, and documentation.
• Perform minor routine maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, changing filters, etc.
• Provide excellent customer service to our clients answering questions and addressing any concerns.
• Other duties as required, not limited to responsibilities listed above.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Valid AZ driver’s license.
• Minimum of 3 years commercial driving experience (Roll-Off or Lugger an asset).
• Knowledge of metals is an asset.
• Must have trailer and manual truck driving experience (18-speed transmissions).
• Must have a clean Driver’s Abstract / CVOR and verified for insurability.
• Willing to work extended and flexible hours as required.
• Able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English.
• Comfortable using a cell phone, tablet, and CB radio.

I am in search of a reliable, punctual, and professional driver who can transport me to my workplace in Mississauga early in the morning and pick me up in the evening, Monday through Friday, every week.

To clarify, the daily commute is from my residence in Parkdale to my workplace in Mississauga, beginning at 7:30 am. You will then pick me up at 6:30 pm for the return journey. As such, the job requires commitment both in the morning and evening, rendering it a full-time role, even though the weekly working hours might be less than 20 hours.

Ideally, I am seeking someone who can commence immediately and is comfortable using their personal vehicle for these daily commutes. The position is on a live-out basis and I am flexible towards a driver-on-demand or a personal driver arrangement.

The successful candidate must be organized, possess excellent time management skills, and maintain a clean driving record. This role involves ensuring my safe, comfortable, and prompt arrival at my destinations.
