    OVERVIEW

    The successful candidate must have trailer and/or manual truck driving experience with 18-speed transmissions for either roll-off or luggers. The truck driver will be transporting materials to designated locations and communicating with dispatchers, and other drivers using two radios or mobile devices.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITES
    • Conduct pre-operational inspection and post-operational inspection of the truck using digital inspection form.
    • Report any unsafe conditions or issues during the service calls.
    • Responsible for the safe operations of assigned fleet vehicle.
    • Timely transportation of our bins/loads to and from our client sites.
    • Maintain regular communication with Logistics Department.
    • Use automated tarping systems, and occasionally perform manual tarping.
    • Ensure loads and bins are secured prior to travelling on public roadways and highways.
    • Input details of deliveries, pickups and other activities associated with each service call.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the truck(s).
    • In the event of a spill, perform timely response, notification, and documentation.
    • Perform minor routine maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, changing filters, etc.
    • Provide excellent customer service to our clients answering questions and addressing any concerns.
    • Other duties as required, not limited to responsibilities listed above.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
    • Valid AZ driver’s license.
    • Minimum of 3 years commercial driving experience (Roll-Off or Lugger an asset).
    • Knowledge of metals is an asset.
    • Must have trailer and manual truck driving experience (18-speed transmissions).
    • Must have a clean Driver’s Abstract / CVOR and verified for insurability.
    • Willing to work extended and flexible hours as required.
    • Able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English.

    Driving in the Ottawa and surrounding Area including parts of Quebec, the company driver conducts themselves as an ambassador representing the company in a professional, courteous and well-groomed image to clients, while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction occurs with each pick-up and delivery. They shall represent the company in safely driving Greentec vehicle(s) following all driver-related legislation for e-recycling pick-ups and deliveries utilizing GPS tracking systems for purposes of efficiency and customer satisfaction

    Job Requirements:
    • Driving the Greentec 20 ft cab over Truck
    • Pickup approx. 30lb boxes of household batteries from receptacles (typically 1-4 boxes per-site) and replace with empty boxes.
    • Each box is to be weighted (on truck) and recorded (via handheld) based on pick up date and service location.
    • Full boxes are emptied into steel transport drums.
    • 10-20 service location per day
    • Location varies, returning to Ottawa warehouse location the end of the day to unload
    • Daily routes will be prescheduled by the logistics manager and provided via a driver’s mobile handheld (cellphone).
    • Complete Driver monthly checklist on upkeep ap
    • Perform daily inspections of the vehicle for safety, fuel, oil, and all other maintenance and report any service requirements.

    What do School Bus Drivers do???

    It’s pretty simple, in the morning we pick up school aged passengers from predetermined locations and then deliver them to school. In the afternoon, we do the exact same thing, just in reverse order; we take them from school back home (once again at predetermined locations).

    School Bus Drivers operate Monday – Friday, from September until the end of June…that’s right, summers off. Depending upon your specific route, you could work anywhere from 7am -9:30am then again in the afternoon from about 2pm – 4pm.
