Light Vehicle Driver

Pay: $18.00-$22.22 per hour

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle freight and operate various types of vehicles, including forklifts. The Driver will play a crucial role in our logistics operations, contributing to the smooth movement of products.

Duties

• Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.
• Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on vehicles as needed.
• Assist in moving freight within the warehouse or loading dock area using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required.
• Experience in freight transportation or commercial driving is preferred.
• Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while adhering to schedules.
• Must be physically fit to handle moving freight and performing manual tasks as needed.
