Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver and pick up product (batteries) at scheduled customer locations
Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each customer site
Oversee all functions of vehicle’s condition of equipment loading and unloading, pre-trip inspections, safety and security of cargo (including inspection of tires, lights, brakes, etc)
Assists in the warehouse as required, shipping, receiving and labeling batteries
Experience, Skills & Competencies
Must have valid class 5 drivers’ license
Minimum 1-2 years previous experience with delivery driving. Warehouse experience is an asset
Must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or move boxes up to 40 lbs. Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. And occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Forklift experience is an asset
Good communication skills (listening to and following instructions, conveying information to colleagues and to supervisor/manager)
Ability to follow processes and adhere to safety standards (WHIMS & TDG)

Hourly Rate: $37.20 (2024 rate)

This position is responsible for driving, operating and light servicing of a Tandem dump truck with trailer, in accordance with Class 1 regulations and performing routine construction and maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities

Some typical duties would include loading, positioning, transporting and unloading materials, tools and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions; completing inspections of equipment including checking oil, fuel levels, tires, lubricating and safety operations. Additional duties include driving a City vehicle to and from job sites and assisting crew members in performing their duties. You must have knowledge of heavy trucks, equipment, and various attachments; operating a tandem dump truck with trailer with air brakes and have the ability to load, unload and secure equipment to and from trailers.
Qualifications

Completed Grade 12 Driving experience on air brake equipped trucks with trailers Considerable driving experience with flatbed equipment trailers and gravel dump box trailers. You must hold a valid Class 1 B.C. Driver’s License with air endorsement with a safe driving record.
