  • Pilot Driver

    Wages: $25.07 an hour

    Pilot Truck Driver

    The pilot driver is required to safely drive a pilot vehicle equipped with warning lights and flags to safely escort the delivery truck hauling over dimensional loads on local and provincial highways. The pilot vehicle travels in front or behind the over dimensional vehicle to warn other road users of the presence of an oversized vehicle, and with 2-way communication devices, inform the delivery driver of any load shift or any potential hazards such as narrow bridges, low hanging trees, lane shift, parked cars, pedestrians, etc. along the delivery route. The pilot driver is key member of our team that ensures we deliver top-quality fiberglass pools to our customers.

    This is an exciting opportunity for you to join or delivery team in our new facility.

    Requirements:

    • Valid Ontario Class G or higher driver’s license
    • Minimum 3 years driving experience.
    • Clean driving record with drivers abstract.
    • Knowledge of cargo securement, pre-trip inspections and the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) an asset
    • Excellent customer service skills as you will be representing to company on the road and onsite.
    • Detailing experience with boats and/or automobiles – preferred but not necessary
    • Ability to travel for long periods of time, some overnight trips are required.
    • Ability to use a smart phone and a GPS.
    • Mechanically inclined. Relevant experience and ability to work with different hand tools.
    • Ability to read and interprets maps, minor blueprints, and plans.
    • Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Willingness to learn new things as you may be asked to detail or do small repairs to a pool onsite and/or be part of the manufacturing team at our facility during the off season and/or when not on the road piloting.
    • Attitude to be flexible with work, as the work needs may be fluid from day to day during the season.
    • Able to work with crane/yard team moving pools for production to staging areas
    • Able to use, pressure washer, caulking gun, electric polishers and help with detailing/outfitting team to prepare pools for next day delivery
    • Able to work outdoors in all seasons and around heavy equipment, cranes, telehandlers and forklifts.
    • During slow delivery periods you will assist with facility maintenance and/or become part of the production team, and this will require you to have the ability to wear a respirator while working on the production of pools

    • To understand and promote the mission of the National Diabetes Trust to the general public and to all volunteers
    • Has a thorough knowledge of the organization goals and objectives, services, programs, and organizational structure at all levels
    • Always operate vehicles in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and in a safe and responsible manner
    • Conduct ‘pre’ and ‘post’ trip inspections
    • Complete and submit the appropriate paperwork daily

  • Delivery Driver

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: From $20.00 per hour

    Seeking delivery driver to pick up and return marine hardware to marinas and customers in south western Ontario (Woodstock to Stoney Creek/Hamilton). Deliveries take place on Tuesday each week until October, and on an on call basis in the spring and fall. Hours range from 8-13 hours on the road, departing early morning. Vehicle is a light duty utility van. Some lifting required. This position requires the use of an app on a mobile device (provided by the company if required), so experience with technology is required. Driver’s abstract will be requested upon hiring.

    • Inspect vehicle for any safety concerns; report any warning lights and/or vehicle/windshield/tire damage; pull vehicle out of the prep processing as necessary
    • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and report any unsafe or hazardous conditions
    • Operate tools such as carpet shampoo machines or air purifiers to eliminate stains, pet hair, and odors
    • Assists customers when needed. May transport customers to and from the branches
    • Helps maintain overall site appearance including general cleaning of interior and exteriors of branch locations

    Job description

    Title: DZ Straight Truck Driver – Local Deliveries

    Pay: $23/ hr.

    Shifts: Monday-Friday (Some weekends may be needed)

    Hours: 6am or 7am start – 10-12 hour days

    Location: Ottawa, ON East

    We’re currently looking for a few DZ Truck Drivers on behalf of a locally owned and operated Transportation Company. Your primary role will be to conduct pick-up and deliveries within the Ottawa and surrounding area. This role is physically demanding, with deliveries using walkies, pallet jacks, and dollies.

    Responsibilities:
    • Deliveries consisting of various dried goods
    • Hand bombing
    • Loading and unloading of your truck
    • Working in an extremely fast-paced environment/loading area
    • Safe operation of a straight truck within Ottawa and surrounding areas
    • Accurately maintaining logs
